Energy storage, growing global market generates added interest in OutBack products

InterSolar 2015
While the global interest in renewable energy continues its rapid ascent, the recent focus on energy storage has phones ringing at OutBack Power Technologies from installers and customers alike. The company will showcase its fully integrated energy storage and solar power solutions at the upcoming Intersolar Europe trade show in Munich, Germany, June 10-12.

OutBack Power has been in the renewable energy business for 14 years and has built its reputation largely on rugged and reliable, off-grid solar power systems, often used in remote locations around the world where the nearest utility grid may be 100 miles away.

The company is also a member of The Alpha Group, a group of independent companies that design and manufacture a wide range of power solutions, from advanced intelligent UPS systems to standby and renewable energy products. From leading the construction of a 29 MW solar farm in North Carolina (U.S.) to supplying an off-grid solar system for the Niassa National Reserve in Mozambique, the combined expertise of the Alpha Group leverages more than 39 years of power technology and innovation.

“We see the recent focus on energy storage as a positive for the entire renewable energy market,” said Drew Zogby, president of Alpha Technologies Incorporated. “It validates what OutBack has understood and led the industry with for more than 10 years – true energy independence can only be achieved with an energy-storage-based system.”

The company will take the opportunity at Intersolar Europe to share some of its knowledge on energy storage at the Intersolar Grid Power Forum. Alpha’s Director of International Business Development, Gord Petroski, will speak on the topic of “Energy Storage and Power Electronics in Residential and Small Commercial Systems” Thursday, June 11 at 3 p.m. (located at the BSWSolar booth B1. 558 in Hall B1).

On display at the OutBack Power booth (B1.570) will be a wide range of the company’s energy storage solutions, from EnergyCell RE Top Terminal batteries – designed for light to medium duty applications – all the way up to EnergyCell 2V High Capacity battery for maximum storage capacity. All of OutBack’s batteries work seamlessly with other products on display, such asthe IBR2 and IBR3 integrated battery racks; the OBE series of outdoor battery enclosures; the award-winning Radian Series inverter/chargers; the new FXR Series of grid/hybrid inverter/chargers; the FLEXpower ONE and FLEXpower THREE integrated systems, OutBack’s easy-to-install, pre-wired systems for renewable energy applications with small to medium power requirements and OutBack’s OPTICS RE Internet-enabled remote monitoring and control platform.
